Log in / edit user profile

On this page, we provide you with instructions on how to log in and how to edit your user profile.

How to log in

There are thee account types that you can use to log in to the Radboud Data Repository (RDR):

Institutional account at SURFconext

SURFconext users from Radboud University or Radboudumc can be assigned to the role of manager, contributor or viewer. Other researchers with SURFconext accounts can be made contributor or viewer upon invitation by the collection manager.

  1. Go the the RDR login page and click the button Login with your SURFconext account.
  2. Select your institution from the list.
  3. Fill in your username and password of the user account of your home institute and click Login. For Radboud University and Radboudumc this would be your Radboud University or Radboudumc email adress respecitvely.
ORCID

With this account you can be made contributor or viewer upon invitation by the collection manager.

  1. If you do not have an ORCID account yet, you can create one on their website https://orcid.org/.
  2. Check the settings of your ORCID account. You must allow 'trusted parties' (e.g. the RDR) to be able to see your email address and your name. Edit this under the email and name settings (the pencil icon next to 'Emails' or 'Names') of your ORCID account on https://orcid.org/.
  3. Go to the RDR login page and click the button Login with your ORCID account.
  4. Fill in your ORCID username and password and click Sign in.
EduID

You can use a Google+, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter or Microsoft account to login to the RDR via EduID. With this account type you can be made contributor or viewer upon invitation by the collection manager.

  1. If you do not have an EduID account yet, you can create one on their website https://eduid.nl/.
  2. Go to the RDR login page and click the button Login with your SURFconext account.
  3. Select EduID from the list.
  4. Fill in your EduID username, click Email a magic link, and follow the instructions in the email.

Edit your user profile

A user profile is automatically created for you when you log in to the RDR for the first time. This user profile includes your first and last names, which determine how you will be cited if you are added as an author to a collection in the RDR. It is therefore important that these names are correct and that they correspond to the names that you normally us in scientific publications. To edit your user profile and/or change the frequency with which you receive email notifications, follow these steps:

Step 1: Go to your profile page

Click on the Profile button that appears in the drop-down menu under your name on the top right corner of your screen:

Step 2: Edit your profile information

You can now see your profile information. If you want to edit some of this information, click on the Edit button on the bottom left of your profile page. Now you can edit the following fields:

  • Initials and Surname: These fields determine how you are cited as an author of a collection in the RDR. Provide your initials and correct your surname if necessary. Above your names, you can see how your name will appear in a citation in “RDR format”.
  • Researcher ID: Here you can add your researcher ID.
  • ORCID ID: Here you can add your ORCID ID.
  • Personal website URL: Here you can add your personal website URL.
  • Email frequency: In order to change the frequency of your email notifications, select the preferred frequency under the drop-down menu.

Don't forget to click on Save changes when you are done editing.
