Only give roles to people who are member of the research project. If you are looking for a way to share the content of your collection with people who are not involved in the project, please see the section about sharing collections.
Roles and permissions
As a manager, you can add other project members to your collection in different roles with varying permissions:
- Manager: Managers are authorized to add and remove users to the collection and to change the state of the collection. They can also view, download, add, modify, and delete files in that collection and can update collection metadata. Only Radboud university and Radboudumc employees can get the role of manager.
- Contributor: Contributors can view, download, add, modify, and delete files of the collection and can update collection metadata.
- Viewer: Viewers can view the collection metadata and content and can download files of that collection. They cannot add, modify, and delete files in the collection nor update collection metadata.
Adding project members
- Go to the project landing page and click on the 'share and permissions' button on the top right.
- Scroll down and click 'Go to permissions'.
- Click either 'Add manager', 'Add contributor', or 'Add viewer'.
- Select a person from the list and click 'Add manager', 'Add contributor', or 'Add viewer'.
If you cannot find a person in the list, this can be due to the following:- They have never used the RDR before and have no account. Ask them to log in to the RDR first.
- For the manager role: They are not employed at Radboud university or Radboudumc. They are not allowed to become manager, perhaps 'contributor' is a suitable alternative.
- For the manager role: They are no 'eligible manager' (yet). Make sure they have logged in to the RDR with their Radboud university or Radboudumc account at least once. Then contact your research administrator to request that they are made 'eligible manager'.
